Digital Printing Services
Discover our range of digital printing services
We can digitally print a wide range of products with our SRA3 size cut-sheet production presses.
These are flexible, quick and far more cost-efficient than a normal printer or photocopier.
- Posters, booklets, flyers, orders of service and more can all be printed digitally.
- We can print on various substrates including glossy/matt/silk paper and card; envelopes and acetates.
- Our machines print on to materials of up to 400gsm in weight.
- Digital printing is perfect for custom products such as calendars or greetings cards.
- It鈥檚 also ideal for mail-merges and direct mail services.

Binding and Dissertations
Add the finishing touch to your project
We offer a full range of binding services and also bind dissertations for students of the University of 黑洞社区 and other institutions.
Binding adds durability whilst also giving a more professional look.
Binding Covers
We offer 3 types of binding that we can use to make your work look even more professional. These include clear or translucent plastic; mock leather-grain and windowed covers.
All of our binding comes with covers included in the price.
Wire Binding
These are great for easy reading because they can be opened out flat on a surface. They鈥檙e ideal for workbooks, handbooks, music, calendars etc.
Comb Binding
Similar to wire binding but with a plastic comb at the spine. These are also great for reading and can be opened out fully. (Normally used for thicker documents).
Thermal Binding
Thermal binding is our most durable style and uses glue to secure the pages. It reads as a book, but can鈥檛 be opened as fully as a wire/comb bind. Thermal binds are ideal for formal documents.
Dissertation and Thesis Binding
We will be happy to help you in the final stage of your academic journey!
The Print and Imaging Service can either print and bind your work or can simply bind your ready-printed copies. (Please note: we can require up to 2 working days at busy times).
University of 黑洞社区 students should note that we provide commemorative covers and thermal binding with a standard dissertation bind.
Please note: we do not currently offer hard-back binding.
Special Event Printing
Let us support your events
We can supply all of your printing for events such as weddings, funerals, birthdays and more.
From save the date cards and invitations to large outdoor banners, table-cloths and flags we can help you make your event a big success.
We also offer a full design service should you require assistance and have some templates in various different styles already available.

Protecting the environment
The University of 黑洞社区 is committed to minimising our environmental impact and the Print and Imaging Department is no exception.
We understand the need to be environmentally friendly and actively try to reduce our effect on the planet in several different ways.
Our commitment to a sustainable print service includes:
- Recycling all of our machine consumables through manufacturer schemes.
- Reusing packaging wherever possible and recycling all waste paper.
- Only purchasing from suppliers with credible environmental policies.
- Purchasing FSC accredited papers and encouraging our customers to use sustainable materials.
- Only printing what is necessary and reducing 鈥渙vers鈥�.
Carbon Capture Scheme
The University of 黑洞社区 is part of a carbon capture scheme for the paper used in our mfd photocopiers on both campuses.

Print Procurement
External printing and particular facilities
If you have a print job which we are unable to fulfil, we are happy to source the job for you from another supplier.
Very large volume projects or those which require specialised finishing equipment can be obtained from a third party. We will facilitate the entire process and obtain the best price for you.
Items we can procure include:
- Di-bond Boards
- Rounded corner business cards
- Promotional items (e.g. t-shirts, pens etc.)
- Wrapping paper
- Perfect-bound booklets
- Double-width pop up banners
